The Original 7-String That Redefined Modern Guitar

Born from Steve Vai’s vision to expand the sonic possibilities of electric guitar, the Ibanez Universe became the world’s first mass-produced 7-string in 1990. Today, the UV70P delivers that same groundbreaking concept within the Prestige-inspired Premium range, offering unmistakable Vai character, powerful tonal range, and exceptional craftsmanship designed to inspire.

Premium Craftsmanship for Demanding Players

Built with Ibanez’s renowned Premium standards, the UV70P features a Wizard 5-piece Maple/Walnut neck reinforced with KTS™ Titanium rods for superb stability. Its responsive jumbo frets receive the carefully detailed Premium fret edge treatment, ensuring ultra-smooth playing comfort across all 24 frets. Combined with a Rosewood fingerboard and American Basswood body, this Universe model delivers resonance, clarity, and a balanced tonal foundation.

DiMarzio® Blaze™ Pickups for Full 7-String Expression

Equipped with a versatile H-S-H set of DiMarzio® Blaze™ pickups, the UV70P is voiced for clarity on the low B string while keeping the upper register tight and articulate. With a scooped midrange and controlled output, these pickups move seamlessly from pristine clean tones to high-gain distortion without losing definition – ideal for metal, rock, and experimental players alike.

Stable Performance with the Edge-Zero II Tremolo

The Edge-Zero II-7 tremolo adds low-profile comfort and dependable tuning stability, enhanced by its stud lock function. Whether you’re dive-bombing, fluttering, or creating subtle pitch shifts, the bridge returns precisely to zero, ready for technical performance.
